Fantasy Football 2014: What’s Real, What’s Not On The Waivers After Week 2

New York Giants Tight End Larry Donnell (12 receptions, 137 yards, TD) has become a key cog in the passing game

New York Giants Tight End Larry Donnell (12 receptions, 137 yards, TD) has become a key cog in the passing game for Eli Manning and the rest of the struggling group

We’re going to try to make this as consistent as possible as the season goes on. I seem to be creating quite the buzz when it comes to waiver pickups so I’m happy it’s at least useful. (more…)

This time of year is always the most difficult.

More often than not it is pretty difficult for me to gauge where a lot of teams are based on training camp whispers, ESPN reports, my own findings, and the like; so when I make predictions for the year sometimes it can get a little dicey. (more…)

Major League Baseball 2014: The Atlanta Braves Playoff Hopes Hinge On This Weekend’s Series Against The Washington Nationals

Jason Heyward (.271 BA, .357 OBP) has been hot of late but the Braves will need more from everyone all around

Fantasy Football 2014: Depth At Running Back Is Better Than Advertised

Chargers running back Danny Woodhead has averaged 335 yards and two touchdowns receiving a year since 2009. Combined with his rushing statistics that makes him a a top-20 running back annually no matter the format

My old fantasy football drafting habits are hard to let go of.

After all this time playing I still can’t bring myself to draft a running back first without a lot of hesitation. I am that guy who gets lured into not being able to resist the consistent production that comes with Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, and Peyton Manning. Can you blame me? Since 2010 they’ve all, at some point, finished in the top-3 in scoring among all players. (more…)

NFL Preview 2014: First Things First, Lets Talk Top-5 Training Camp Questions

Jay Cutler and the Bears have all the makings of a title contender. Can they put it all together in 2014?

Jay Cutler and the Bears have all the makings of a title contender. Can they put it all together in 2014?

I can’t believe it is that time of year already.

When The Worldwide Leader begins their annual camping trips to places like Flowery Branch, GA, Oxnard, CA, and Bourbonnais, IL that can only mean one thing: training camp is starting for the NFL. (more…)

Major League Baseball 2014: Clayton Kershaw Is Your 2014 National League MVP And Other Second-Half Predictions Pt.1

(Doug Pensinger/Getty Images North America)

Clayton Kershaw (11-2, 1.92 ERA) has been one of the most dominant players at any position in baseball in 2014 (Doug Pensinger/Getty Images North America)

I know what month it is, but I don’t care.

I’m not going to bore you with names like Jonathan Lucroy or Giancarlos Stanton. I’m also not going to debate with you about Troy Tulowitzki because, quite frankly, there isn’t an argument as far as I’m concerned. Anyone who has paid attention to the 2014 Major League Baseball season knows where the National League’s Most Valuable Player resides; and it also happens to be where the best pitcher in baseball resides.  (more…)

Major League Baseball 2014: No Bigger All-Star Snub Than Sonny Gray In 2014

Let me start by saying I am 100% in favor of getting rid of the rule that each team has to have a representative. (more…)

Major League Baseball 2014: Five Contenders And What They Need To Fix For A Playoff Push

The Braves Tommy La Stella (.343 BA, .410 OBP in 19 games) has warranted a spot in the top third of Atlanta's lineup)

We’ve passed the point of its early. You’re either a “contender” at this point or you’re not. Of course there are teams that can put together a run, but generally they have the talent on their roster to be considered a team to watch as we head into the All-Star break in the next four weeks. National Football League 2014: Some Friends And I Ranked All 32 NFL Quarterbacks, The Results Were Interesting

Joe Flacco and Ben Roesthlisberger both own Super Bowl rings, but didn't get much top-10 love in the rankings

Joe Flacco (average rank: 12.5) and Ben Roesthlisberger (average rank: 11.3) both own Super Bowl rings, but didn’t get much top-10 love in the rankings

I thought it would be fun to ask a few of my friends to rank all 32 starting quarterbacks in the NFL as they saw fit. As you can expect, once some of them (myself included) got into the process they realized that ranking them was more difficult than first thought. (more…)
